Prescot Cables Reserve Team play in
Division 2 of the West Cheshire League at Hope Street Prescot

In the 2013-2014 season they finished a very creditable 7th and in previous seasons have been in the running for a promotion place.

The Team is managed by one of the most experienced non-league Managers around - Joey Gibiliru.

Our goal is for Cables to be a real Football Club with all teams playing for the common aim of boosting football at Prescot. We want Reserve Team players to be a real part of the club and for the Reserve team to be a realistic stepping stone to the First Team.
Prescot Cables have a very vibrant and active Junior Section in operation. The Junior Section run regular trials for players and competition for team places shows the desire and commitment to sport in our area.

The teams play under the Umbrella of Prescot Cables in various leagues and we hope that one day we will see the youngsters progress to our senior teams.

At the start of the season we hope to present the Junior Teams and organisers to the First Team Supporters at half-time at one of the First Team fixtures. The Section produce a monthly news letter which will be featured here.

PRESCOT CABLES v SALFORD CITY
Tonight Prescot Cables host Salford City in a League fixture rearranged from earlier in the season due to a frozen pitch. Many will recall the excitement that built in the lead up to the planned game. A bumper crowd was expected for a Saturday fixture that was kind to those supporters who also insist on watching Premier League games.

Regrettably due to a section of pitch remaining frozen a difficult and financially painful decision was taken to postpone the game. Many found it hard to believe that there was frost and the Secretary and Ref would have done anything to have let the match go ahead. However when one considers the disruption caused by last minute call offs it was the wise decision (take note clubs that play in the Stockton on Tees area).

So here we are with a Tuesday night mid week game without the convenience of a Saturday but all the more crucial to both teams than the original fixture. For Cables absolutely every point is crucial if we are to avoid relegation. Salford must come to difficult places like Hope Street and win if they are to secure automatic promotion and avoid the uncertainty of any play-off games.

Cables love games like this. Big teams, with big budgets and even bigger personalities - a potential giant killing. In October Cables beat Salford 1-2 at their ground. Lets get the double over them and give our fans something to shout about. What Neil Prince and the team achieved last time was nothing short of a miracle considering the resources available to both teams. It makes one wonder what Prince could achieve with a budget that was even half of what is available at Salford.

So come on Cables fans and Prescot townfolk- get down to Hope Street and cheer on our local team. Lets have some pride and lets send them packing like we did with Warrington recently and Halifax back in the day.
