2009 - Celebrating 125 Years of Football History
Cables SHAY "Hard Luck"
to the MEN from Halifax

Prescot Cables 1 - Halifax Town 0
Saturday 7th November 2009
This Unibond Division One North match was the first
encounter between the clubs and concluded with a
surprise result. With a disappointing home defeat to
Warrington Town in midweek and then three difficult
matches to come, there were fears that Prescot could
plunge down the league table. However, football is a
'funny old game'.

In an entertaining first period in front of the 614 the
visitors, in particular Dean, caused the Cables defence
problems. Gray was fouled on the edge of the box but
managed to get a shot away that flew wide.
It was great to see and hear a big crowd at Hope
Street - the atmosphere was charged.
"It was like this in the fifties, every week" -
Frank, Cables Supporter, Home and Away.
