Prescot was in no hurry whilst Town pressed the accelerator. In the final minute Andy Paxton produced two miraculous saves in the 90th minute to keep Prescot noses in front. There was a suspicion during the second stop that the ball had crossed the line but the assistant was unsighted.

Following seven minutes of added time Prescot held out to inflict a first league defeat on Halifax to the delight of the Cables following.
