A brave Prescot Cables were undone by some atrocious
refereeing and a late sucker punch by Ossett Town in
this vital Unibond Premier League clash at Hope Street.
Cables start the game brightly and almost take the lead
when James Croxton's 40 yard lob catches the Ossett
Keeper off his line and sails into the back of the Ossett
goal via the Keeper's fingertips. Inexplicably the match
official rules the goal out for offside against a totally
uninvolved Darren Byers. Despite this setback Cables
continue to press and Tommy Taylor and Karl Connolly
test the Ossett Keeper with powerful drives from the
edge of the 18 yard box.
