PRESCOT CABLES FOOTBALL CLUB
A Community Interest Football Club founded 1884
We have seen time and again this season
Cables’ losing momentum and
capitulating having conceded a couple of
goals. However, the mood was much
more positive in the Cables team and Phil
Green opened Cable’s account with a
shot from 15 yards which had the
Frickley keeper beaten from the moment
it left Green’s boot.
The introduction of Mahama on 76
minutes did nothing to change the game
with most of the Cables play coming
down the right channel courtesy of Allan
Collins – a definite gem for the future on
sort of behaviour in nonleague football and both
Cables and Frickley fans were rightly offended by
their shocking taunts aimed at Andy Paxton.
Cables may be relegated but the overall
performance from a young side was impressive.
The introduction of some younger players, the
positive attitude and the professionalism of the
Cables side will give Andy Gray the building blocks
we need for our promotion push next season.
Man of the match for me was Allan
Collins….just ahead of Andy Paxton
who turned in yet another encouraging
and creditable performance.

his showing today.
Cables were unable to capitalise on Green’s goal and
the game was played out in the Cables half of the
pitch, with Lee Morris turning provider for Neil
Towler to score the home side’s third and final goal.
The final whistle saw a mini pitch invasion by
relatively young Frickley fans and it is to be hoped
that their disgusting behaviour is suitably punished by
Frickley Athletic. We do not expect to see that
