2009 - Celebrating 125 Years of Football History
Chairman - Tony Zeverona opened the meeting.
Club Secretary - Doug Lace gave his report on the Season.
PRESCOT CABLES CIC - AGM
Thursday 26th November 2009
The AGM was attended by a healthy number of both
Shareholders and supporters all wishing to know how the Club is
fairing and with many wanting to ask various burning questions.
The meeting was hosted by Club Chairman - Tony Zeverona. The
item on the agenda was the acceptance of the previous AGM
minutes. It was soon seen just how far the Club has progressed
over the previous year when one reads over the minutes. Last
year everyone was dissappointed at the results and the prospect
of relegation. This year the room was filled with an air of
optimism and satisfaction with progress so far. The accounts
presented to the audience confirmed that Cables is operated
with total transparency.
Mr Norman Parr explained how the previous year the Club was
uncertain as to how it would fair financially or how the function
room could be used to raise money to support the Club. 12
months on and by running the finances under tight control and
with the assistance of Financial Director Ken Derbyshire the
Club is pretty much on an even keel. There may not be
thousands in the bank but by paying out only what comes in no
substantial debts have been accrued and that is with a number
of expenses that have been necessary to decorate and improve
the clubhouse and ground - necessary to maximise the potential
of revenue from the lounge bar and snack bar.
Mr Parr thanked all those who help to raise money for the Club
by selling lottery tickets and programmes. He particularly
thanked Phil Blundell of PMB Tools and Knowsley Borough
Council for their continued financial support.
The meeting then moved on to the election of the Board of
Directors. This process was described by Tony Zeverona as the
final piece in the jigsaw. The transformation to CIC status having
been achieved through tremendous hard work by the Club and
legal advisor, Mr Peter Neal.
