Cables were comprehensively mugged by local rivals Marine in this Derby clash at Hope Street on Tuesday evening.Cables were still without leading scorer Darren Byers so gave a start to youngster Phil Green.Marine start the game brighter and almost catch Cables cold with two quick chances in the opening 10 minutes. Firstly a whipped in cross from the right flank narrowly evades two prowling Marine forwards in the Cables' six yard area before a quick short free kick frees Marine's Shaun Tuck in the Cables' area but the Marine striker fires over the Cables' bar.

Cables' response is limited to a Liam Kennedy header straight into the waiting hands of the Marine Keeper and a blocked effort by young forward Phil Green.On 37 minutes Cables get another slice of misfortune as Marine snatch a disputed opening goal.
