2009 - Celebrating 125 Years of Football History
Harrogate Railway- 0 v 3 - Prescot Cables
Unibond League Cup
Saturday 31st October 2009
Coach departed Prescot at about 11:15 on Saturday
morning. It was good to see that the coach was pretty
full with a numer of new Supporters sampling the
delights of an away fixture. Some Supporters had
taken the opportiunity to invite friends along and that
is the sort of marketting that is needed. Mind you if
many more Supporters start kopping off and inviting
boyfriends / girlfriends along we may have to start a
booking procedure.

The Harrogate Railway Club is located somewhere
between Knaresborough and Harrogate and situated
down a side street off the main road.

After dropping off the players at the ground a few die
hard supporters walked along to the high street to
sample the delights of a few local pubs.

First stop was the Henry Peacock, quickly followedby
the Prince of Wales. Whilst there we chatted to a few
locals, avoided the weirder looking ones and decided
upon our team strategy (for supporting the Cables).

We then set off for the ground walking past the
Clubhouse which is about 200 yards away from the
ground entrance. Some decided the Club was too far
from the ground to be feasible to visit in the half time
break. Frank and Peter decided that it would be just
about possible with a quick getaway and a shortcut
across the grass.
In the the far right of the pic
the Harrogate Horror can be
seen still in a relatively calm
state - not yet at fever pitch
