The Last Match in the Premier League |
I somehow managed to offload all of my responsibilities on the day of Frickley v Cables. I was suppossed to be Kit Executive but when I saw how much it meant to Nick I didnt have the heart to take that honour away from him. I was suppossed to write the match report. I now realise that I should have been a doctor as I have subsequently been unable to decipher any of my writing. It would have defeated Robert Langdon (Da Vinci Code). So I thought I would report upon the social side of attending the match instead. Having arrived at Frickley the Army thought it wise to do a spot of sightseeing. First stop being the local Cricket Club about 100 yards (conveniently) from the GMB stadium. |
The sun was shining, Cables weren't getting beat (yet) and everything was fine in the world. The plan was to visit the local points of interest. However, the slag heaps, corner shop and bust stop (if only) were shut so we headed down to the ground. At least some (Marg and Heather) had made an effort to get into the spirit of things. Heather - stop looking down chimneys! |
It was considered polite to support the cricket club by purchasing some of the products sold therein. |
