The Last Match in the Premier League
Half time came and we decided to
treat ourselves to a couple of drinks.
We marvelled at how tall Graeme is
and the fact that Tony Zav keeps Sue
Arnold hidden in his pocket.
However what was evident is that we
are a bunch of individuals who have
come together through a common
interest in the Cables. But we seem to
get on and have a laugh even when we
are losing. Strange - what would
happen if we won - Im sure we will find
out.
Despite the fact that the bar shuts
when the match is on I managed
to miss the first few minutes of second half. I tried to
wind the Frickers up by asking several whether Cables
were winning yet. They seemed to take it in good
spirits though and humoured me. I then sampled the
delights of the Big Fella Snack Bar. Ive already been
to Prescot Nick and reported the Fraud - not one
morsel of meat could be found within that gravy pie.
Alans dinner medals proudly displayed upon his
shirt were testimony to the need for a spoon.
When the match was over those with good eyesight
crowded around the small screen tv with air freshner to
catch the results.
In the end Frickley had a lot in common with
Cables. There was a lot of potential for the ground
and obviously quite a lot of emotion for the team.
At the after match awards you could see that the
support for the club was evident. We are all
struggling and doing our best to make it in the
league. We've got a better clubhouse - their grass
was immaculate and we are going down. - FACT
I was gutted at the result as we had played so
well in the first half. But I still enjoyed the day
because of the camaraderie.
