TUESDAY 5TH OCTOBER
Prescot Cables announce a couple of personnel changes within the Management Committee.
Cables Director and Match Day Secretary Margaret Byron has resigned from the Board. Margaret has
acted as Match Day Secretary for a number of seasons, giving up her time to liaise with her
counterparts from opposition Clubs leading up to match days and on the day of the matches.
Additionally Margaret in her role was required to meet and greet officials and complete FA
documentation regarding Team selections.
Brian Banawich also steps down from the Cables Management Committee. Brian has been a fan and
helper at Cables for a number of years, supporting the Club by carrying out all manner of jobs and diy
functions at the ground, eventually working his way up to position of Kit Executive.
After previously producing a number of sell-out fanzines which raised much needed money for the
Club, Brian stepped in when needed and at the beginning of the season took over the task of Cables
Programme Editor.
Both Margaret and Brian have given up their time to Cables on a volunteer basis. If it were not for the
charity of volunteers Prescot Cables would have ceased to exist many years ago. Both the Club and
Supporters Club are greatful for the efforts of both Margaret and Brian.
Taking over the role of Programme Editor is Paul Watkinson. Paul has previously produced the
Programme for a number of years and has won plaudits and received recognition for the quality of the
publication. Supporters who travel to away matches will be well aware that the Cables programme is a
quality item which puts many other teams publications to shame. Many programmes encountered are
totally devoid of news or items worthy of reading and are often found to be more expensive.
Stepping in to act as Match Day Secretary is Cables Supporter Frank Weston. Frank who lives locally
has previously held this role and is well aware of both the importance of the role and the need for
accurate prompt paperwork. Failure to complete necessary documentation can easily result in FA
fines - so the Club are in good hands with Frank.
Prescot Cables and the Supporters Club welcome both Paul and Frank to their roles and wish them
luck for the remainder of the Season. Thanks for stepping in fellas!
